April 22, 2023 is the 54th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Cherish the Earth, Harmony between Man and Nature". To further guide the whole society to establish the ecological civilization concept of "respecting nature, adapting to nature and protecting nature", promote the construction of beautiful Qianshan, and jointly build an earth home where people and nature live in harmony, Tianzhushan Global Geopark and Shuzhou Primary School of Qianshan City will jointly hold a series of thematic publicity activities for the World Earth Day 2023.

2019 is the 50th World Earth Day with the theme of "Cherish the
Beautiful Earth, Protect the Natural Resources". In order to further guide
the public in establishing the concept of "green water and mountains are
treasures" and the concept of "harmonious coexistence between man and
nature", Tianzhushan Geopark in combination with the geomuseum of Anhui
province held a series of science popularization activities.
On April
21, a science popularization caravan of the geomuseum of Anhui province drove
into the tourist center square, set up exhibition boards on climate change and
distributed popular science brochures, to show the impact of climate change
on the human living environment to a vast number of visitors. At the same
time, they advocated for people to change their lifestyle, reduce the burden on the earth
and to cherish its resources. The scene of the activity attracted many
visitors, and most of them said that such a science education exhibition was
very meaningful, not only to learn about popular science, but more
importantly to realize that it's every citizen's obligation and
responsibility to protect the environment.
On April 22, a science education activity was held in Tianzhushan community primary school in colorful forms, including a science education lecture, exhibition of fossil specimens and rocks and micro-video playing. This interesting lecture helped students understand the electronic map drawing process, fossil specimens showed the earth's magic evolution, and the micro video let students acquire knowledge in a fun way, achieving a real edutainment. The atmosphere of the activity was warm, and students actively asked questions and interacted with the staff frequently. More than 400 teachers and students participated in this activity, during which Tianzhushan UNESCO Global Geopark and the geomuseum of Anhui province donated popular science books and study supplies to the community primary school.
On April
27, Tianzhushan Geopark will cooperate with the Third Middle School of Qianshan
City to hold a one-day science popularization tour, organize students to get
close to nature, learn about the unique geoheritage of Tianzhushan geopark and enhance awareness of cherishing and protecting the earth.
