April 22, 2023 is the 54th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Cherish the Earth, Harmony between Man and Nature". On Oct. 12, the establishment meeting for the
Geotourism Branch of China Tourism Association & National Geotourism Summit
Forum was held in the international convention center of China University of
Geosciences (Beijing). 156 representatives including leaders from China Tourism
Association, academicians, scholars attended the meeting. A Tianzhushan
representative also attended the meeting.
The meeting voted through the Management of Geotourism
Branch of China Tourism Association, and selected the first council. There are
122 initiating member units, including 1 chairman unit, 5 vice chairman units
and 30 council members units.
The establishment of geotourism branch aims to gather
all elite in geology, geography, ecology, culture and tourism fields, promote
the protection of natural resources and eco-environment, propel the integration
of production, learning and research, upgrade the scientific and cultural
connotation of geotourism products, boost the tourism quality, and create a
multidisciplinary integration platform, academic and industry links platform as
well as natural education platform. The geotourism branch can provide
comprehensive supporting services such as planning preparation, industrial
upgrading, qualification certification, talent training and summit forums, etc.
