April 22, 2023 is the 54th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Cherish the Earth, Harmony between Man and Nature". In order to strengthen and promote the construction
and management of global geoparks of China, enhance the exchange and
cooperation among geoparks, make conclusion of the work in 2015 and make
arrangement of the work in 2016, 2016 annual conference of global geoparks of
China was held in Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark, Guizhou Province, from 26th
April to 27th April. The conference was hosted by
With the theme of “Stepping into a New Era
of Global Geoparks”, the conference aimed to build a communication platform for
participants, and made in-depth discussion and exchanges on the management,
protection and development of global geoparks in the new UNESCO environment.
The conference lasted for two days with
colorful activities, including academic exchanges, signing ceremony for
establishing sister relationship, the opening ceremony of Zhijindong Cave
Global Geopark, an exhibition of global geoparks in
Tianzhushan joined in GGN in 2011 and
successively passed the first revalidation in 2015. The representative from
