April 22, 2024 is the 55th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics". In order to
enhance the public's awareness of biodiversity conservation, on May 18, Tianzhushan
Geopark Administrative Center, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum and Qianshan Meicheng
Primary School jointly held the " International Biodiversity Day"
themed science popularization activities.
During the
activity, under the leadership of the popular science teacher, the students
visited Tianzhushan Geopark Museum and Qianshui River Wetland Park Science Education
Hall, observed animal and plant specimens, identified animal and plant species
and morphological characteristics, explored biological mysteries, understood
natural changes, and felt the charm of biodiversity of Tianzhushan. At the same
time, Ms. Ye Caihua, an expert in nature notes, was invited to bring a vivid
and interesting lecture on "nature notes", and Ms. Ye passed on her
rich experience to students who were new to nature notes, and led the students
to open a new door to the wonderful world of nature in a fun and educational way.
Under the
guidance of Ms. Ye, the students turned into little painters and recorded the
beauty of nature through careful observation of the characteristics of plants
and in the form of paintings, words and other forms. After the event, the
students said that they would love nature more, care for animals and plants,
and protect biodiversity in the future!
Through this
activity, the joint role of library-school cooperation was fully utilized, and
students' awareness of biodiversity protection and environmental protection was
further enhanced. As an important science popularization research base in
Anqing, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum will carry out various forms of
biodiversity-themed science popularization activities to arouse the public's
awareness of biodiversity protection, create a good atmosphere of
"protecting biodiversity" in the whole society, and gather consensus
and strength for the construction of a beautiful home of harmonious
coexistence.
