The Changbaishan UNESCO Global Geopark is located in the administrative area of Administration Committee of Changbaishan Reserve and Development District, southeast Jilin Province, the People's Republic of China, Asia-Pacific Region, adjacent to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the south and east margins.

There are 20 geosites in Changbaishan Global Geopark, among them, 19 geosites are for scientific study, 15 geosites for educational purpose, 16 geosites for geotourism. Four geoheritage types are of international significance, 3 geosites of national value, and the others of regional or local value. The vertical zonation of vegetation and volcanic landform in Changbaishan Global Geopark are in the first batch of tentative list of Chinese National Natural & Cultural Heritage.
