Shanghai Institute for Tourism (SIT) is the earliest higher institute for tourism in China. Over the years, SIT has developed its own education philosophy of “Going global and relying on the industry”, and continues to cultivate highly-competent and applied tourism talents with international vision. In 2011, SIT was listed as the single one National Demonstration Vocational College in Tourism in China.

In December 2014, SIT undertook the management and service skill training of Tianzhushan Global Geopark.
