The 311 Geological Team of Anhui Geological and Mineral Exploration Bureau was established in February 1964 and is subordinate to Anhui Geological and Mineral Exploration Bureau，it was the 3rd Geological Brigade of the State Geological Administration.

The bureau is one unit of China Federation of Mining Industry's Red List of Geological Survey Credit Information, a director unit of China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, a key scientific research institution in Anhui Province, a member unit of Anhui Urban Lifeline Safety Project Construction Consortium (pipeline census category), one of the first provincial filing units of social stability risk assessment in Anhui Province, and a member of the third national soil census field sampling organization list.

In recent years, the 311 Geological Team has been working around the needs of local economic and social development, adhering to the main line of transformation and innovative development, and devoting itself to undertaking national and local basic and public welfare geological work and strategic mineral resources exploration tasks.

On 10 November 2021, a strategic cooperation agreement was held between the 311 Geological Team and the Tianzhushan UGGp Management Committee at the Tianzhushan UGGp Museum. They will cooperate extensively in areas such as the construction of field teaching practice bases, the cultivation of young science and technology talents, and the application of scientific and technological achievements.
