September 15-25,
2024 are National Science Popularization Days, and the theme of this year is:
improving the scientific quality of the whole people and working together to
build a strong country in terms of science and technology. On September 20,
Tianzhushan UGGp jointly carried out a series of education activities for the
2024 "National Science Popularization Days" with Qianshan Municipal
Association for Science and Technology, the Municipal Ecological Environment
Branch, the Forestry Bureau of Qianshan, Doumu Town, Tianzhushan Town and other
relevant departments.
More than 100
teachers and students from Luohan Central Primary School visited the Tianzhushan

observe rock specimens, learnt about the geological evolution and landforms of
Tianzhushan, the origin and evolution of life and explored the diverse
ecosystems on Earth; In addition, they learnt about the humanistic history, stone
carvings, intangible cultural heritage and other aspects of Tianzhushan from

than 200 students in Huangpu Middle School. Professor Wu Weiping used rich
pictures, vivid videos and simple explanations to lead students to explore the
internal structure of the earth, plate movement, climate change and geological
evolution and many other mysteries, and popularized the knowledge of the Tancheng-Lujiang
fault zone, so as to improve students' awareness of geological disasters prevention.
These activities
not only provided students with diverse popular science resources, but also
stimulated students' interest in learning, loving and using science. In the
future, Tianzhushan UGGp will further strengthen the construction of popular
science infrastructure, optimize the allocation of popular science resources,
improve the service capacity and make greater contributions to the high-quality
development of science popularization.
