To popularize earth science knowledge and enhance awareness of natural resource conservation, Tianzhushan UNESCO Global Geopark will host a series of science popularization activities for the 57th World Earth Day and the 7th Asia Pacific Geopark Week. Through offline popularization and online interaction, we will explore the mysteries of geology and protect our common homeland.

In the vibrant month of April, as trees turn lush and flowers bloom, birds become especially active. To promote avian knowledge and cultivate awareness of bird conservation and ecological protection among youth, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum organized the "April in Nature, Exploring the Elves of the Wild" birdwatching educational activity at Qianhe National Wetland Park on April 13.
Silent Observation: First Encounter with Birds
Guided by museum docents, students entered the Biodiversity Exhibition Hall, where a diverse array of bird specimens captivated their attention. The children examined details such as feather patterns, body structures, beak shapes, and foot characteristics, marveling at the intricacies of nature.

Lecture: Unveiling the Secrets of Wings
The science popularization volunteer delivered an engaging lecture on local bird species, their habits, and unique traits. Using vivid images, the session provided students with a systematic understanding of avian life, reinforcing the importance of ecological conservation and harmonious coexistence with nature.

Outdoor Adventure: Meeting the Sky's Dwellers
Led by Professor Zhao Kai from Anqing Normal University, participants ventured into Qianhe National Wetland Park. Through listening, identifying, and searching, they observed species such as swallows, black bulbuls, white-headed flycatchers, and spot-billed ducks. Equipped with telescopes, the students transformed into "junior birdwatchers," tracking birds and exclaiming, "Who knew our local wetlands held so many natural wonders!"

The event concluded with a reflective session where volunteers encouraged students to share their experiences and insights.
Birds, as vital components of biodiversity, play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and advancing sustainable development. This activity aimed to instill the principles of "respecting, protecting, and harmonizing with nature" among youth, nurturing a new generation of eco-conscious guardians who are curious, observant, and deeply connected to the environment.
