To mark the 2026 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day and raise teenagers’ awareness of heritage conservation and ecological protection, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum launched an educational activity themed "Explore Tianzhu’s Dual Heritage, Enjoy Natural Science Popularization" on June 13. A total of 15 parent-child groups recruited from the public took part in the event.

Guided by professional interpreters, participants toured all exhibition halls of the museum to gain systematic knowledge of Tianzhushan’s geological evolution, landform features, ecological resources and the conservation value of the Global Geopark. A special lecture titled The Wonderful Kingdom of Insects was delivered by a forestry expert. Based on local ecological resources of Tianzhushan, the lecture popularized insect science and biodiversity protection concepts through a fun interactive session, helping young learners grasp natural science knowledge effortlessly.

After the theoretical session, the group visited the Valley Stream Cultural Park. With the interpreter’s narration, they appreciated poems and inscriptions left by literati from past dynasties and learned about historical stories behind the stone carvings, immersing themselves in the profound cultural heritage of Tianzhushan. At the end of the activity, young students actively shared their insights and exchanged thoughts on natural exploration and cultural learning.

Integrating geological science popularization, cultural research and hands-on experience, the event greatly deepened teenagers’ understanding of Tianzhushan’s natural and cultural heritage. Moving forward, relying on various science promotion events, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum will carry out regular educational activities to spread the philosophy of heritage protection to the public.
