Xia Jikan Inspects The Geological Museum Of Anhui Province

On Nov. 30th, Xia Jikan, deputy Secretary of Qianshan county committee and deputy director general of Tianzhushan administration committee, inspected the geological museum of Anhui province, accompanied by Huang Xiaosheng and Wang Chendong, deputy directors of Tianzhushan administration committee, and principals of office, land construction bureau and geopark office, to undertake investigation for the planning and construction of the new geological museum of Tianzhushan.

The investigation team visited the earth knowledge hall, rocks hall, fossils hall, dinosaur hall and so on, experienced 4D cinema, learnt about the design, construction, layout and operation of the provincial geological museum, exchanged views on establishing long-term cooperation relations with the curator Mr. Jiang Liai and reached a consensus. Curator Jiang said he would support Tianzhushan geopark in professional technology, layout design, specimen collection, personnel training, etc.

Anhui Geological Museum, located near the Swan lake of Hefei city with a total investment of nearly 400 million yuan, a construction area of 26500 square meters and a collection of 50000 mineral samples and paleontological fossils, is by far the largest geological museum in China.

In accordance with global geopark standards and requirements, Tianzhushan in the near future will start the design and construction of a new geological museum at the south foot of Tianzhushan, which is located at Yezhai on National Highways 105. The new museum will integrate geology, biology, history and culture, and be planned together with Tianzhushan tourist center and visitors' transfer center. Xia Jikan said the construction of the new museum would adhere to the principles of a strong start, great work and high quality, and it would become the best global geopark museum tourist destination and a landmark building in reshaping the image of Tianzhushan.
