From Nov. 14 to Nov.15, 2017 an annual Chinese  global geopark conference was held in Fuding. Hosted by Mr. He Qingchen, vice president of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and executive director of the National Geoparks Network Center, the meeting was attended by nearly 200 participants, including representatives from more than 30 global geoparks in China and 2 global geoparks candidates and land and resources departments of relevant provinces and cities as well as famous domestic professionals. A representative of Tianzhushan also attended the meeting and engaged in exchanges and shared experiences together with other geoparks. Mr. Guan Fengjun, director of the geological environment department of Land and Resources Ministry, presented conclusions about the management, construction and system of geoparks, and pointed out the current challenges and solutions for the sustainable development of geoparks. Mr. Liu Yuan, inspector of the geological environment department of Land and Resources Ministry, presented the 2016-2017 work report and the work plan for 2018. The meeting held an award ceremony for the new members of GGN: Arxan and Keketuohai. They respectively introduced the construction, development and management situation of their geoparks. Zhijindong, Ningde, Guangwushan, Huanggang Dabieshan engaged in exchanges on the management, evaluation and revalidation of geoparks, and new evaluators also shared experiences. The next annual meeting will be held in Yandangshan UNESCO Global Geopark.
