April 22, 2024 is the 55th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics". In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, publicize Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, guide the whole society to establish the concept of ecological civilization of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature", promote the construction of beautiful Qianshan, and jointly build an earth home where man and nature coexist in harmony, Tianzhushan Global Geopark, Anqing Qianshan Ecological Environment Branch and Qianshan Pailou Central Primary School jointly carried out the 55th "World Earth Day" and the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week Science Popularization Campaign. In the form of museum-school cooperation and joint construction and common benefit, Tianzhushan Geopark will give full play to the social education function of the museum and jointly build a "second classroom" for popular science education.

On March 21, more than 50 teachers and students from Zhangfashan
Primary School of Qianshan City went to Tianzhushan Geopark Museum and Qianshui
River National Wetland Park to carry out the "World Forest Day"
themed education activities jointly organized by Qianshan Forestry Bureau, Zhangfashan
Primary School of Qianshan City, Tianzhushan Geopark Administrative Center and
Tianzhushan Forest Park.
After a brief launching ceremony at Tianzhushan Geopark
Museum, the students were led by a guide to visit the Earth Mystery Hall, the Life
Evolution Hall and the Folk Culture Hall. During the tour, the students followed
the guide to look at the exquisite exhibits. While listening patiently to the
explanation, they also used pens to write down the contents of their interest
in their little notebooks. Here, the students learned about the history of the
evolution of the earth, the unique geological relics, paleontological fossils, the
history of civilization and other natural and humanistic knowledge of Tianzhushan
UGGp, increasing their knowledge of sciences while deepening their love for
nature.
During the visit to Qianshui River Wetland Park,
students were able to get closer to the Qianshu River and have a close
encounter with nature, as well as learn about the important role of wetland
parks in maintaining the ecological balance of the region, protecting
biodiversity and developing eco-tourism.
The public service activities also included an essay
competition, so students were particularly attentive during the visit,
sometimes looking at and thinking about it, sometimes taking notes, and
sometimes asking questions.
In recent years, Tianzhushan UGGp has taken the
responsibility of promoting the spirit of sciences and popularizing scientific
knowledge by organizing various thematic science popularization activities to promote
ecological conservation and sustainable development. In the future, Tianzhushan
UGGp will continue to organize various kinds of science education activities
and explore new forms and carriers of science popularization activities to
guide more people to pay attention to nature, love nature and protect nature.
