April 22, 2024 is the 55th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics". In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, publicize Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, guide the whole society to establish the concept of ecological civilization of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature", promote the construction of beautiful Qianshan, and jointly build an earth home where man and nature coexist in harmony, Tianzhushan Global Geopark, Anqing Qianshan Ecological Environment Branch and Qianshan Pailou Central Primary School jointly carried out the 55th "World Earth Day" and the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week Science Popularization Campaign. In the form of museum-school cooperation and joint construction and common benefit, Tianzhushan Geopark will give full play to the social education function of the museum and jointly build a "second classroom" for popular science education.

On December 28, Tianzhushan Geopark and various
primary and secondary schools in Qianshan City organized a meeting on science
popularization co-construction, museum-school cooperation and exchange, and
representatives of more than 10 primary and secondary schools such as Qianshan
Association for Science and Technology, Meicheng Primary School, Shuzhou
Primary School and Tianzhushan Town Central School participated in the meeting.
The meeting summarized the development of science popularization
work of Tianzhushan Geopark in 2023, and solicited the opinions and suggestions
of the participants on how to innovate and diversify the science popularization
of Tianzhushan Geopark. Subsequently, the participants conducted in-depth
exchanges and discussions on how to strengthen cooperation and co-construction
in the future, develop and utilize popular science education resources, expand
the content of popular science education, innovate the form of popular science
activities, establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, and how to integrate
high-quality popular science resources into the school's discipline teaching
system, and expressed a good vision of continuous and in-depth promotion of
co-construction, sharing and common benefits.
This exchange meeting aimed to understand the popular
science needs of different youth audiences through face-to-face communication,
further build consensus and gather the joint force of popular science education
in the new era. By carefully combing and analyzing the opinions and suggestions
collected at this meeting, in the next step, the Geopark will continue to
innovate ideas, enrich carriers, and constantly create new highlights of
popular science education, strengthen team building, continue to improve the popular
science work, realize the linkage of resources and talents and create a new
situation in science popularization work.
