April 22, 2024 is the 55th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics". In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, publicize Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, guide the whole society to establish the concept of ecological civilization of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature", promote the construction of beautiful Qianshan, and jointly build an earth home where man and nature coexist in harmony, Tianzhushan Global Geopark, Anqing Qianshan Ecological Environment Branch and Qianshan Pailou Central Primary School jointly carried out the 55th "World Earth Day" and the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week Science Popularization Campaign. In the form of museum-school cooperation and joint construction and common benefit, Tianzhushan Geopark will give full play to the social education function of the museum and jointly build a "second classroom" for popular science education.
On April 1-2, the delegation of Danxiashan UGGp
visited Tianzhushan UGGp for a two-day exchange activity. The purpose of this
visit was to enhance the network exchange of geoparks, jointly promote the management
and development of geoparks, share revalidation experience and the construction
of geocultural villages, and explore the possibility of future cooperation. Mr.
Gao Jianqiang, member of the Party Committee of Tianzhushan Scenic Area and
director of Tianzhushan Geopark Administrative Center, participated in the
reception.
The delegation was composed of senior experts,
scholars and managers of Danxiashan UGGp, with profound academic backgrounds and
rich practical experience in geology, botany and other fields. The delegation
successively visited the granite landform area of Tianzhushan, Qiuzhi Geo-cultural
Village, Tianzhushan Geopark Museum, the Valley Stream Cultural Park and the
Sanzu Temple Scenic Area, and learned in details about the characteristics and
advantages of Tianzhushan's geological landform, ecological environment,
cultural heritage, etc., and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with
the staff of Tianzhushan UGGp on how to better protect geoheritage, promote the
development of eco-tourism, and improve the scientific quality of the public.
The visit not only brought valuable experience and
suggestions to Tianzhushan Geopark, but also laid a solid foundation for
cooperation and exchanges between the two geoparks.
