April 22, 2024 is the 55th World Earth Day, and the theme of this year's Earth Day is "Planet vs. Plastics". In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, publicize Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, guide the whole society to establish the concept of ecological civilization of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature", promote the construction of beautiful Qianshan, and jointly build an earth home where man and nature coexist in harmony, Tianzhushan Global Geopark, Anqing Qianshan Ecological Environment Branch and Qianshan Pailou Central Primary School jointly carried out the 55th "World Earth Day" and the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week Science Popularization Campaign. In the form of museum-school cooperation and joint construction and common benefit, Tianzhushan Geopark will give full play to the social education function of the museum and jointly build a "second classroom" for popular science education.

From April 19th to 28th, 2024, Tianzhushan UGGp,
together with 45 geoparks in China such as Danxiashan UGGp and Yandangshan UGGp,
jointly held the 2024 World Earth Day Science Popularization Activities with
the theme of "Planet vs. Plastics" to promote the dissemination of
earth sciences knowledge, attract the public to care for the earth's homeland,
and promote the sustainable development of geoparks and other nature reserves.
On April 22, Tianzhushan UGGp, together with Anqing
Qianshan Ecological Environment Branch and Qianshan Pailou Central Primary
School, jointly carried out popular science activities with the theme of
"cherishing the earth to achieve the harmonious coexistence between man
and nature". There were various forms of popular science activities,
including the launching ceremony of the main event of the Earth Day, a visit to
the Tianzhushan Geopark Museum, a campus popular science exhibition, and a
field trip to fossil sites, which were very popular and loved by students.
The successful holding of the 2024 Earth Day theme
science popularization activities in Tianzhushan Global Geopark not only
improved the public's awareness of the protection of the earth's environment,
but also promoted the attention and support of all sectors of society for
environmental protection. It is believed that with the joint efforts of
everyone, our earth will become more beautiful and harmonious.
