Anqing Normal University is located in Anqing City, Anhui Province, nearby the Yangtze River and Ningan High-Speed Railway and the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway. It is the only institution in southwest Anhui and Dabieshan region with the name of "University". The university has a long history, and is the marks the beginning of modern higher level of education in Anhui province. The university has two campuses at Longshan and Linghu, covering an area of 2,800 mu. There are 17 colleges and 72 undergraduate majors, including 10 major disciplines such as literature, economics, history, law, education, science, engineering, management, agriculture and art. There are more than 1,480 faculty and 27,200 full-time students.

In 2013, Tianzhushan UGGp signed a partnership agreement with Anqing Normal University to establish a training base for education. In September 2018, the Geopark gave a lecture entitled Geoheritage of Tianzhushan Geopark：Telling the Story of the Earth in the university.
