Chuzhou Univeristy is located in Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, formerly known as Chuzhou Normal School in northern Anhui Province, founded in 1950, renamed as Chuzhou Normal College in 1980 and upgraded to Chuzhou Univeristy in 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The university has 2 campuses, Huifeng and Langya, covering an area of 1,633 mu （Approx. 1.09 km2）. Currently, there are 15 secondary colleges and 62 undergraduate majors. There are 1,341 faculty and more than 26,000 students.
