Anhui University is located in Hefei city, Anhui province, and is one of the “Double World-Class Project” universities in China. It is a university co-established by the People's Government of Anhui Province, the Ministry of Education, the People's Government of Anhui Province, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, PRC. It is a major comprehensive university affiliated to Anhui Province. The university was founded in 1928 in Anqing, the provincial capital of Anhui at the time, which was the foundation of modern higher level of education in Anhui.

Anhui University has four campuses and a college scientific park, with a campus area of more than 3,200 mu approx. 2.13km2. It has 10 major disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, history, philosophy, economics, law, management, education and art, with two national key disciplines and 25 provincial key disciplines.

In September 2013 World Tourism Day, the opening ceremony of "Beautiful China, Joyful Reading Anhui Tianzhushan Cup, 2013 Anhui University Students Cultural Tourism Festival" were held in Anhui University. In October 2013, the first batch of "Joyful Reading Tour" of "Tianzhushan Cup, 2013 Anhui University Students Cultural Tourism Festival" entered Tianzhushan. In July 2014, the second batch of Anhui University Students Cultural Tourism Festival was held in Tianzhushan UGGp.
