What is low-carbon tourism?

It is a kind of tourism which has a low carbon amount emission, that is to say, tourists should reduce as much carbon dioxide emissions as possible. It is a green tourism based on low energy consumption and low pollution, which advocates reducing the carbon footprint and emission of carbon dioxide and is a reflection of environment-friendly tourism at the deep level.

Five ways to reduce carbon emission in tourism.

(1)Transportation: walking and cycling are recommended. Trains are more preferable than planes and group travel is more preferable than self-driving. If taking a plane is unavoidable, then choosing the most appropriate airline and carrying the least amount of luggage; if you really want to go by self-driving, you should maximize energy efficiency by taking more people in your car.

(2)Food: do not use disposable tableware or drink bottled water. Prepare the glassware yourself, eat local seasonal fruits and vegetables and try to be a vegetarian.

(3)Shelter: do not change the bed sheet and quilt cover in hotels unless it is necessary, and do not use their disposable products.

(4)Shopping: try barter exchanges and choose local and seasonal products with simple package.

(5)Travelling: make appropriate route arrangement, separate and recycle waste, and avoid footprint in scenic areas.
