Lotus Peak
Category:Introduction of Geosites

Lotus Peak is actually a pyramidal peak which consists of medium-grained monzogranite from the early Cretaceous period (128 million years ago). The great crag of the peak is cracked vertically like pedals resembling a beautifully blooming lotus. Another small lofty crag is attached to it, like a lotus bud out of water; the flower and the bud constitute an interesting lifelike picture. There is a natural cavern at the top of the lotus peak, called Lotus Cave, which can hold dozens of people. A plank road was built on the side of the cliff round Lotus Peak, which is amazing and looks like “a jade belt twining around the lotus” from afar, constituting a wonderful landscape in Tianzhushan.
