According to legend, Xu Zhenren climbed this peak and became an immortal. The dense diagonal joints give the peak the appearance of an opened fan. Thus, the peak has another vivid name: Fan-shaped Cliff. The bornhardt or mountain-island is composed of medium-grained monzonitic granite from the early Cretaceous period (128 million years ago).
