Fupen Peak is a
domed granite inselberg or island hill which is composed of medium-grained
monzonitic granite from the early Cretaceous period (128 million years ago).
There stands a boulder on the top of the peak, which looks like a stone pot, so
it is named after it. Fupen Peak is formed by weathering and planar exfoliation
along its joints when the granite was exposed to the Earth’s surface.
