On November 1st, Nan Guojun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Yuan Feng, Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Hefei University of Technology, led more than 20 teachers to come to Tianzhushan Global Geopark. The two sides held a discussion meeting and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Shu Hanbing, member of the Standing Committee of the Qianshan Municipal Party Committee and deputy director of Tianzhushan Administrative Committee, attended the meeting, and the relevant leaders of Tianzhushan Administrative Committee Office, Tianzhushan Geopark Administrative Center, Tianzhushan Tourism Development Co., Ltd. participated in the meeting. Yuan Feng and Shu Hanbing signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.

On behalf of Tianzhushan, Shu Hanbing delivered a welcome speech and introduced the relevant situation of Tianzhushan Global Geopark. He said that Tianzhushan attached great importance to cooperation with universities, carried out a number of cooperation projects and achieved a series of results. Since 1950s, Hefei University of Technology had carried out geological survey in Tianzhushan, Professor Xu Jiawei as a representative of geologists from Hefei University of Technology carried out decades of scientific research work in Tianzhushan, made a very important contribution to the geological research of Tianzhushan. He hoped that the two sides would follow up in the scientific research, internship teaching, capacity building and other aspects of cooperation, which would become a model and highlight of the cooperation between universities and the Global Geoparks, and promote the high-quality development of Tianzhushan Global Geopark.

Dean Yuan Feng introduced the relevant situation of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, and said that Tianzhushan Global Geopark had world-class geoheritages, while Hefei University of Technology had strong scientific research capabilities, and the two sides would further strengthen cooperation on the basis of the agreement, give full play to the advantages of Hefei University of Technology in scientific research, technology, talents, etc., and jointly carry out cooperation in party building, student practice, popular science activities, scientific research projects, etc., and look forward to the two sides working hand in hand to continuously deepen cooperation, achieve complementary advantages, and promote common development.

Apart from the meeting, the representatives visited Tianzhushan Geopark Museum, the granite landform, Valley Stream cultural park and Yangxiaowu fossil site, etc.
